Current project

Real-time deformability cytometry (RT-DC) became a widely-used technique for mechanical characterization of cells in our lab. But it was lacking specific confirmation of findings by established markers such as fluorescent surface markers, dyes and fluorescent protein based reporters. To enable correlation of mechanical phenotyping with these markers, I developed a new experimental setup for measuring both at once. Real-time fluorescence and deformability cytometry is able to determine stiffness and fluorescence read-out for 100 single cells per second.
